Microdermabration
WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?
Microdermabrasion is a resurfacing treatment used to rejuvenate and restore natural glow to your skin. This procedure is great for treating the following:
- Micro-peeling exfoliation
- Hyper-keratosis
- Acne and impurities
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Enlarged pores
- Rough, uneven textured skin
- Hyper-pigmentation
- Post-acne scars
The procedure is performed by a precision hand piece applicator that combines the synergy of a stream of very fine, chemically inert crystals with a beam of infrared therapeutic laser light, used with mild suction. The gently abrasive action exfoliates the outermost layers of the skin while the infrared laser light penetrates into the tissue where it is absorbed by cells and converted into energy that influences the course of metabolic processes. The practitioner can control the power of the spray, from a gentle buffing of the skin to deeper. Treatment with BioskinLas can be used on any skin type of any age as the practitioner can adjust the treatment to the individual skin. It is suitable for both men and women.
THE TREATMENT
- The skin is thoroughly cleansed with Epi-A, which is an appropriate antiseptic product that removes any traces of impurity.
- After cleansing, Hydrotone, a specific geloid fluid is used to soak the epidermis and to prepare the skin for the treatment.
- The skin is exfoliated using micropeeling procedure through a highly controlled vacuum to move microscopically abrasive aluminiium oxide crystals over the surface of the skin. The removed skin cells along with the crystals are immediately vacuumed back into the sterile handpiece.
- The skin is exposed to the thin beam of the infra-red “vaculaser” light, equipped with a highly sophisticated head, that improves cellular and fluids exchange, stimulates the connective tissue’s mother cells, leading to renewed collagen and elastin production.
- Bio C, an exclusive formulation that uses the well-known properties of
vitamin C is applied on the skin. Bio C is able to stimulate skin micro-circulation, reenergize skin cells activity and boost collagen production, while fighting anti-oxidants. When absorbed into the skin, Bio C develops a particular adhesivity that enables the therapist to perform an anti-gravitational massage that activates skin regeneration, improves circulation and enhances tissue tone. - A few drops of Vitactive are applied, a pure vitamin extract oil allows
a desensitising action on the skin, combats and prevents the formation of pigmentation marks thanks to its rich content of vitamins and fatty acids. - Mask M is distributed on the whole place, leaving it to rest for about 10 min. The synergy of this product will dramatically reduce the sensitivity giving a clear and smooth complexion.
- The treatment is completed with Derma Block, a hydrating and powerful UVA/B and environment protecting cream. The skin is now totally desensitised.
Is the treatment painful?
Microdermabrasion is considered a comfortable and pleasant procedure. Occasionally the treatment results in a mild redness, which may last a few hours. After treatment slight skin sensitivity may show. To protect the skin the use of sunblock is advised. Details will be discussed at the consultation.
Does it work on wrinkles?
Superficial lines respond well to microdermabrasion. Deeper lines may be softened but cannot be removed by microdermabrasion. For these kinds of problems, dermal fillers and muscle relaxing injections will achieve significant results.
How long before I see results?
You will see an improvement after your first session. Your skin will have a fresh glow and look healthier. Continue with a course of six treatments and you can look forward to smoother skin with a better texture and a reduction in age spots and fine lines. From then on, you can use microdermabrasion treatments at regular intervals as part of your skin care regime.
